Who We Are

The Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) (http://www.cibmtr.org) collaborates with the global scientific community to advance hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and cellular therapy research worldwide. A research program of the National Marrow Donor Program®/Be the Match and the Medical College of Wisconsin; CIBMTR facilitates critical research that has led to increased survival and an enriched quality of life for thousands of patients.

Our prospective and observational research is accomplished through scientific and statistical expertise, a large network of transplant centers and a clinical database of more than 350,000 transplant recipients. Support for the program is provided, in part, by grants and contracts from the National Institute of Health and Health Resources and Services Administration. Successful use of this funding has resulted in the completion of hundreds of studies that positively impact both clinical practice and transplant patients.

The CIBMTR is now in the tenth year of its robust and collaborative affiliation. The CIBMTR Coordination Center spans two campuses, in Milwaukee and Minneapolis, and is committed to supporting the highest level of clinical and health services research.
