Continuing Track (CT) Simulation Center Director - Assistant/Associate Professor in Nursing | University of Delaware

Nurse Simulation Director: The School of Nursing at the University of Delaware announces an exciting opportunity for a full time continuing track Assistant/Associate professor to join an award winning faculty as the Simulation Center Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek a highly motivated, simulation expert to serve as the Director to lead and expand an interdisciplinary program of simulation in the School of Nursing (SON) and College of Health Sciences (CHS). The non-tenure track faculty member will lead the Center in developing a strategic plan that includes educational programming and innovation in teaching, and designing and implementing a research program and agenda for simulation.  The Director will be responsible for ensuring best practices in all instructional and operational aspects of the Center including directing faculty and staff. The Simulation Center Director reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Nursing and Health Care Innovation.  Responsibilities include building on existing simulation programming in the CHS and SON including Healthcare Theatre, to promote new and innovative simulation experiences; using continuous evaluation and improvement methods guided by International Nursing Association of Clinical Simulation Learning (INACSL) best practice standards, to increasingly advance and grow the simulation learning environment; the oversight of the organization, recruitment, training and management of faculty and operational support staff, ensuring best practice standards of all faculty and staff operating in the simulation environment; and develop and implement a research agenda program for the Simulation Center. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in nursing or related health discipline is the required educational preparation with three to five years’ professional experience in a clinical environment. Experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and customizing clinical educational or simulation programs is expected.  Preference will be given to those with specific education in simulation, health technology, or instructional design.  Ongoing maintenance of licensure and competency through continued clinical practice is expected.
