Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) [gmap]

In his State of the Union address this year, President Obama announced that he's launching the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) — a bold new research effort to revolutionize how we improve health and treat disease. The PMI aims to leverage advances in genomics, emerging methods for managing and analyzing large data sets while protecting privacy, and health information technology to accelerate biomedical discoveries.

Working through community health educators, the Screen to Save (S2S): NCI Colorectal Cancer Outreach and Screening Initiative aims to increase colorectal cancer screening rates among men and women age 50 and older from racially and ethnically diverse communities and in rural areas, including: American Indians and Alaskan Natives, Asians, Blacks/African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, and Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.
