Abstract

Basic and translational cancer research creates the need to disseminate, manage, and interpret large heterogeneous datasets. The volume and complexity of the data now routinely generated by high-throughput technologies has become too costly for individual laboratories and many research organizations to download, store and process. To address this need, NCI has funded the creation of three cancer genomics cloud pilots that aim to democratize the ability to analyze and interact with large collections of cancer data, such as TCGA, by co-localizing the data with advanced computational capacity and new computational paradigms. This workshop, presented during the TCGA 2015 symposium, introduces the Seven Bridges Cancer Genomics Cloud pilot and describes the infrastructure that will be made available to the research community.  Sign up at http://cancergenomicscloud.org or email cgc@sbgenomics.com for more information.
