The Por Nuestras Hijas/For Our Daughters HPV program is an interactive, culturally appropriate HPV education program which includes a print fotonovela and a tailored interactive multimedia intervention (TIMI). The TIMI runs on iPads and also available on the web and mobile platforms. The program is designed to be delivered by Community Health Workers and also available to be used at clinical settings and community events like health fairs. The purpose of this HPV program is to increase HPV vaccination among Hispanic girls aged 9 to 26 years. Guided by the Social Cognitive Theory, the program focuses on increasing parental knowledge about cervical cancer and HPV and to increase the parental knowledge, attitudes, and intentions about the HPV Vaccine. Specific modules focus on HPV’s link to cervical cancer, misconceptions and cultural beliefs about HPV vaccination, questions to ask during doctor’s visit, and the HPV vaccine. This program was evaluated with Hispanic parents of girls between the ages of 9 and 26 . In February 2014, the Por Nuestras Hijas/For Our Daughters HPV program was submitted to the Texas Department of State Health Services and became a certified Community Health Worker training program, eligible for Continuing Education Credits .The program includes the following resources: print fotonovela (English/Spanish), interactive web-based program (link: and the program’s training presentation for promotoras.
