  • Biography

    Marios A. Gavrielides received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, in 1994 and 1996 respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University in 2001.  From 2002 to 2004, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.  From 2004-2009, he was a NIBIB/CDRH fellow with the Division of Imaging and Applied Mathematics (DIAM), Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories, Center for Devices and Radiological Health,  at the Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Since 2009 he is a staff scientist at DIAM.  His research interests include the development and assessment of quantitative imaging methodologies, with emphasis on volumetric thoracic computed tomography, digital pathology, and computer-aided diagnosis.
