  • Biography
Emma Gardecki is a current ORISE fellow joining the DIDSR team under the mentoring of Brandon Gallas. She is a recent graduate of Smith College’s Statistical and Data Sciences program with a focus on wrangling big data and applying ML methods to healthcare problems. For the last 2 years, Emma also worked at the Mass General Hospital in the Center for Integrated Diagnostics as a student researcher where she assisted in research projects and clinical method development and validation. She is in the process of finalizing her manuscript “Trends in Cancer Diagnostics in the US”, a retrospective analysis of NIH’s SEER Cancer Registries. Emma’s aspiration is to receive a Ph.D. in Biostatistics and continue her research in digital pathology. Outside of work, Emma enjoys volunteering with local food banks and the Boston Public Schools as a math tutor, and creating wheel thrown pottery.
