Events List

  1. Deep Learning for Computer Vision and Medical Image Analysis

Hosted by NIH.AI and NVIDIA, this highly interactive, three-hour workshop will offer opportunities to share the latest updates in applying machine learning in medical image analysis and ongoing activities across the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NVIDIA specialists will deliver targeted presentations and NIH and Fellows will deliver lighting talks about their work. It will offer plenty of time for open discussion among peers and across disciplines.

  2. Seminar Series: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Biological Data

Are you interested in learning how to use artificial intelligence for analysis of biological data? Experts from NCI, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and NVIDIA will provide real-world examples on using AI for 1) drug development, 2) image analysis, 3) molecular data, and 4) multimodal data. The one-hour seminars will be offered monthly from May 25, 2021 through September 23, 2021 and are hosted jointly by the NCI Bioinformatics...

  4. Two existential threats to biomedical natural language processing...and how to face them with biomedical natural language processing - presented by Dr. Kevin Bretonnel Cohen

Abstract: The reproducibility crisis calls into question some of the most fundamental use cases of biomedical natural language processing: if 65% of the scientific literature is questionable, what is the point of mining it? Meanwhile, computational research has mostly been immune to the crisis, but there is no a priori reason to expect that state of affairs to continue. This talk proposes that natural language processing itself can address this issue on both fronts--but how? About:...
