This position focuses on biophysical/biochemical analysis of signaling complexes. The successful candidate will carry out an independent project on the mechanisms of cellular signaling in organismal development and congenital disease. Preference will be given to applicant with a strong background in molecular biology, protein purification, and protein crystallization; experience in other biophysical methods is a plus, but not required.

The Founding Director will work with faculty in the College of Health Sciences to plan and implement a MPH degree in Epidemiology and to interface with other colleges within the University in developing joint MPH programs. A postdoctoral NIH-funded position in Neurobiology is available at the Andrade Lab to study the functional role of splice isoforms of voltage-gated calcium channels in the nervous system, and the modulation of voltage-gated calcium channels by cannabinoid receptors during anxiety states. We are interested in using the ability of the nervous system to generate cell-specific splice isoforms to improve pharmacological therapies.

The Department of Medicine has initiated a search for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, Clinical Scholar Pathway, in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Strong training and experience in GERD, high resolution esophageal manometry and esophageal pH testing is essential but not required. Applicant must be BC/BE for Gastroenterology.

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is seeking a physician with experience in hematologic malignancies and autologous stem cell transplantation to join our academic faculty. The position is available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway and includes the opportunity to conduct clinical research and further multidisciplinary programs to care for patients with hematologic malignancies. The successful candidate must demonstrate a record of collaboration, excellence in clinical care, teaching and scholarship. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont and must fulfill criteria for appointment at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine has 15 faculty members and works closely with the University of Vermont Cancer Center (UVMCC). At the UVMCC, clinicians, scientists and epidemiologists work together to improve cancer and hematologic care delivery through the integration of basic, clinical and population research.

Perform advanced data analysis and management. Clean, analyze, and report on child healthcare data gathered from multiple sources (e.g. all-payer claims, medical records, and health and human service organizations) across the state in support of research and evaluation activities conducted by the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP). Design and implement data management systems in collaboration with program leadership. Export and merge healthcare datasets and conduct statistical analyses, ensuring confidentiality of research materials and compliance with applicable regulations. Conduct structured medical literature searches, and create and maintain an electronic reference manager in support of research efforts and manuscript production. Draft IRB protocols and amendments in collaboration with principal investigator; maintain research compliance binders, maintain comprehensive knowledge of each protocol’s procedures. Conduct descriptive statistical analyses and write detailed reports on evaluation and research methods and results.

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the Robert Larner, M.D.College of Medicine at the University of Vermont- Neurology Health Care Service at University of Vermont Medical Center has established a General – Comprehensive Neurology Program and we are recruiting a clinical neurologist to join our evolving program. The successful applicant will be involved in a primarily clinical care role with some teaching responsibility at the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY caring for general neurology referrals from the community and some specialists. The applicant will be a member of the teaching faculty at the Academic Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont and will also participate in some general neurologic care and teaching at the Burlington site.

Reporting to the Chair of Medicine and working in collaboration with the division chiefs of the Department’s 13 other subspecialties, the new Chief will oversee and further develop the Division’s outstanding clinical service, educational, and research programs. The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is seeking to identify a new faculty member for our Gynecologic Oncology Division. We are looking for an individual at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank who is Board eligible/certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Gynecologic Oncology. The appointment effort is targeted at 0.8 FTE. The ideal candidate would be eligible for a clinical scholar pathway appointment. A committed academic interest in either educational programming or research productivity is desirable.

The University of Vermont College of Medicine and The University of Vermont Medical Center, leaders in patient care, medical education and research, are seeking an individual who is board certified/eligible in Rheumatology for a full time position as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Tenure Pathway). The candidate should be a Physician Scientist with primary interest in clinical, translational, outcomes-based research in rheumatology and/or metabolic bone disease. Clinical responsibilities will be centered around the care of patients with rheumatic diseases. Educational responsibilities include mentoring, supervising and teaching fellows and other post-graduate trainees, medical students and colleagues.

Candidate must have an M.D. or M.D. plus Ph.D. degree with specialty training in rheumatology including board eligibility/certification in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
