All specializations will be considered, with particular interest in; bioimaging, material science, regenerative engineering, mechanobiology and human factors engineering. he Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University-School of Medicine (VCU-SOM) is seeking an exceptional investigator pursuing innovative questions relevant to the Department’s research strengths in lipids, metabolism, lipid signaling, protein:lipid interactions, lipidomics, and metabolomics. This is a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This position serves as the Chair of the Family and Community Health Nursing department in the School of Nursing. The candidate must have demonstrated administrative or leadership experience with a community of scholars. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of funded research in nursing science and willingness and ability to provide visionary leadership and mentorship of faculty colleagues and students. The candidate should have experience in conducting significant research and hold interests that complement and expand existing expertise in the School of Nursing. Research areas of particular interest include biobehavioral clinical research, symptom management, and critical care, oncology, or health promotion across the life span.

The Program Leader will provide leadership in clinical and translational research and will have additional responsibilities in clinical care and teaching. The division and CHoR are part of the NCI-designated Massey Cancer Center. Currently, the division is the only facility providing pediatric stem cell transplantation in Virginia. The Pediatric Neuro-oncology section includes an outstanding team of neurosurgeons and neuroradiology expertise, and the Program Leader will work closely with the adult neuro-oncology program headed by Dr. Mark Malkin. The division boasts cutting edge research facilities including the newly developed center for zebrafish modeling of human diseases and well-funded laboratories including those studying sphingolipid biochemistry, chromatin remodeling, and developmental therapeutics. Additionally, the division offers a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship with support for a fourth year.

This position is a senior-level faculty position who will direct the Cancer Immunotherapy Program. This position will have a key role in advancing the research mission and will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the Massey Cancer Center.

Required education includes a PhD and/or MD, or equivalent degree

• Demonstrated experience in handling, processing and analyzing biomedical data
• Demonstrated skill in computer programming in several languages (especially C/C++, Python, Java, PHP, SQL)

This position will serve as a community neurologist with job responsibilities on campus at UK Healthcare in Lexington and in Frankfort, KY at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Provides genetic counseling services for Markey Cancer Center patients with a medical or family history of cancer and/or genetic disease and coordinates program services.

Provide exceptional customer service and advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication.

Patient services include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Collect, review and interpret family/medical histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant/necessary information.
2. Coordinate testing and communication of results to referring healthcare providers. 
3. Develop genetic counseling plans, including risk assessment, referrals, education, life planning options, and treatment options.
4. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families. 
5. Identifiy and provide referrals for testing, treatment, support, and advocacy. 
6. Research, maintain, and apply knowledge of trends and developments in genetic disease research.

To perform a wide variety of research study/office and laboratory related functions that will increase research study/office/laboratory efficiency, expedite the work of others, and ensure the smooth operation of the research study/office/laboratory related functions. Provides support to research staff with administrative functions including communications, special projects and development and maintenance of study databases and data entry.

Duties for this position include coordinating the initiation, management and completion of clinical research studies, performing a wide range of clinical and non-clinical tasks associated with conducting clinical research; collaborating with investigators and other team members to achieve research project objectives; ensuring data integrity and compliance with research protocols with the guidance of more senior research staff.   In addition, the Research Assistant will act as a liaison between investigators, sponsors, study subjects, Institutional Review Board, Contract Research Organizations, and ancillary services, and will adhere to U.S. Food and Drug Administration and International Conference on Harmonization regulations as well as individual study protocols.  Other duties, as assigned. 

Candidates for this full time, state-funded position should possess a doctoral degree in a field relevant to cancer epidemiology. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in cancer epidemiology and success (or demonstrated potential for success) in attracting external funding, and evidence of teaching courses in cancer and/or chronic disease epidemiology and experience with mentorship of students at the graduate level. The Occupational Medicine, Epidemiology & Prevention (OMEP) Dept. is developing a population-based cancer research program and is recruiting a social behavioral epidemiologist, in the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, who has experience in studying behavior related to early detection/intervention of diseases, preferably cancer screening behavior. The position is a non-tenure track Faculty Scientist position. As a member of a shared resource the Faculty Scientist will support a wide range of internal and external funded research projects, for both individual researchers and large collaborations. Support will include consultation on experimental design, methods support and preliminary data analysis for grants, the design and implementation of genomics-based high-throughput sequencing data analyses pipelines, and secondary analysis of genomics data, including data visualization, and publication text.
